Saleem Khan, PhD

Dr. Khan is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 1976 from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. His research is focused on the role of microRNAs in human papillomavirus-associated cancers, and plasmids encoding drug resistance and toxins in Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus anthracis.

In addition to his role as professor, Dr. Khan is the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Academic Affairs for the University School of Medicine, member of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, member of the Molecular Virology and Microbiology Graduate Program and a member of the Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology Graduate Program.
